A Loner


Don’t decry being a Loner! They have the potential benefits of being creative, having good sense of wellbeing and even good leadership skills. “The Intentional Positive Loners” who chooses to be this way because it fits their personality and lifestyle. Research says, they are autonomous. Their behaviors, values, and interests are “resistant to pressure from others”, and they are interested in learning more about their personal experiences and emotions. They have strong core values, interests, and independent thoughts that differ from others. There are also Short- term Loners, who have a need to get away from others every now and then but only for a short time, simply because they enjoy solitude and it works as a fuel to them. It can be for couple of hours or days, but they usually tend to spend significant time both being in solitude and being with others hence manage to find a better balance in life. Having said that, they can be susceptible to fatigue or mental discomfort if they want/ need some alone time but can’t find it. So go ahead and have your time off! And, next time when someone tries sympathizing with you thinking that you are lonely, correct them and let.them.know that you are a happy “Loner”!
